Arabic Past and Present Tense Fill in the Blank worksheet

Bismillah,

Here is an activity that I was meaning to create for a while now to use in my teaching. A nice way to show and review the prefixes and suffixes attached to the core verb root to conjugate it for different subject pronouns.

I’m going to print this document double sided so I end up with only one sheet for each student. Then I’ll laminate the sheet so the students can fill in the blank using a dry erase whiteboard marker.

Here is the pdf of Arabic tenses Fill in the Blank activity sheet.

Arabic Present Tense jigsaw set

Bismillah,

Here is a jigsaw type activity that I have put together to help the girls review Arabic present tense conjugation parts.  To help them see the different parts that make up present tense for each subject pronoun.

Laminate the sheets and store in a sealed bag and re-use as needed. I’m going to make this a pair activity so I will only need half the number I would’ve needed.

Qur’anic Arabic Verbs flashcards

Bismillah,

I’ve created these flashcards of verbs in the Qur’an for use with my classes. I will cut out the meaning and stick to the back of the verbs and then laminate the verb sheets. That way the students will be able to play a game with their partner to help them memorize them.

I have chosen interesting looking pictures so that it will be easier for the visual learners to remember iA.

Arabic Verbs conjugating game

Bismillah,

Here is a neat activity to use as a starter or to finish off the lesson. It’s a game to be played in pairs. I am going to laminate it so the ones they have completed can be crosses off using a dry erase board marker and the sheet will still be usable with other classes.

Arabic verbs Tic-Tac-Toe

Bismillah,

Here is a quick activity intended as a starter activity to help my students learn to translate the verbs they have been learning in these past few lessons. The game uses ayaat from the Qur’an which fits in well with their syllabus.

The game is easy – Tic Tac Toe but with a Qur’anic Arabic twist.

Inshallah I’m going to laminate the sheet so that the students can put crosses on the sheet using dry erase board markers. That way this resource can be re-used for many years to come iA.

So here is the pdf for the Arabic Verbs Tic Tac Toe activity.

Arabic present tense cut out activity

Bismillah,

Here is the pdf worksheet for the Arabic present tense (Fi’il Mudari’). I’ll be using this sheet in this Saturday’s lesson with all three of my classes insha Allah.

It’s a simple cut out activity where students need to place the correct cut out in the present tense table. This worksheet will be given after we have read through the explanation.

The act of cutting out will help those students who are kinesthetic learners. The colours will help the visual learners and for auditory learners it will be useful to ask them to read the cut outs out loud as they stick them on the table.

I spy an Arabic verb…

Bismillah, glass I’ve created this resource for my class to help them practice conjugating verbs in the past tense. Each student will be given one what I am going to call an “I spy stick” which has one verb on it that appears in the Qur’an. They’ll have time to conjugate the verb they have been given in the past tense and then I’ll call out: “I spy an Arabic verb beginning with the letter …” and whoever has the verb beginning with that letter will read out their answer. It’s just a fun way to get the lesson started and to incorporate an interactive activity into the lesson.

Arabic Grammar Lapbook – free pack

Bismillah,

We are currently on our spring break for two weeks. I’m using the extra time available to plan and create more resources for the coming term. We had a very fruitful Arabic staff meeting and Alhamdolillah as a result we feel like we know where we are heading as a team and a department.

The first lesson back after a long break is usually where we spend time reviewing the grammar concepts we have covered so far. The 3rd term is insha Allah where I am going to prepare the girls for their end of year exam. So reviewing is going to be a major theme for us this coming term iA.

Here is the free 10 page PDF of the Arabic Grammar Lapbook

So, this is what the girls from my 3 classes will be making for themselves. If hey ever leave Al Barakah school they have a hands on resource with all Arabic grammar in one place. I’ve left things blank for them to fill out in their own words and style.

You will need a document folder cut open or you can use any folder you have available. I am going to go for the cheapest option as I will be getting all 3 classes to be making one each.

Here is what the pages look like and some pics I took of what I made as a sample:

End of term handouts

Bismillah,

SubhanAllah, another term at Al Barakah is coming to an end and unlike the first term, this one has flown by. But time usually goes fast when you’re having so much fun.

To remind the girls to review their Arabic grammar over the holidays, I went out and bought a few goodies for the girls to celebrate how well they have done this term masha Allah! For example, my year 10s were able to translate the first few sentences of the story of Habil and Qabil in Arabic using previous knowledge of vocabulary and Arabic grammar they have learnt so far. That is a huge achievement and I was blown away in class with how well they translated the text!

So here is a peak at the goodies 🙂

The above is for my little year 8s. I’ve just added a little tag to each present – lolly pop dips. If you want to print this class for your class, here is the PDF Dip tag.

Here are the presents for my year 10s and 9s. Crisps with their own tag. If you want to print your own tag, here is the PDF Chip tag.
