New Arabic Language teaching resources

Bismillah,

Resources_0

Here are a few Arabic language teaching resources I have come across that you may also find helpful in some way. I’ve been watching, downloading and reading everything Arabic teaching related these past few weeks and I’ve really enjoyed myself so here is a small selection of what I have come across:

Pictorial wiki – A site to help you learn Arabic vocabulary. The nice thing about this site is that the words are organised into categories. Each category has a picture and once you hover over the picture it will show you the word in Arabic and whether it is masculine/feminine.

Al-Masdar (Qatar Foundation International) – This is the section of the QFI site that has Language teaching resources as well as Arab Cultural resources. Full of resources for teachers. Take your pick.

Arabic Teacher Training and Cultural Programme – I’ve only watched the first two videos. They are aimed at teachers teaching Arabic speaking, reading and writing full-time. I’ve picked up points here and there and would like to do a separate blog post on them with a summary of each video.

Hope you find these links helpful iA!

Arabic grammar review board game

Bismillah,

Here is a board game I’ll be using in my class as a quick and fun way to review what has been taught previously. We are on half-term holidays for a week so the girls will need some help reviewing the previous grammar concepts.

Download the pdf for the Arabic grammar board game HERE

I will laminate this sheet and it will be a pair activity. You will also need dice and counters for this game.

Arabic Past and Present Tense Fill in the Blank worksheet

Bismillah,

Here is an activity that I was meaning to create for a while now to use in my teaching. A nice way to show and review the prefixes and suffixes attached to the core verb root to conjugate it for different subject pronouns.

I’m going to print this document double sided so I end up with only one sheet for each student. Then I’ll laminate the sheet so the students can fill in the blank using a dry erase whiteboard marker.

Here is the pdf of Arabic tenses Fill in the Blank activity sheet.

Arabic Present Tense jigsaw set

Bismillah,

Here is a jigsaw type activity that I have put together to help the girls review Arabic present tense conjugation parts.  To help them see the different parts that make up present tense for each subject pronoun.

Laminate the sheets and store in a sealed bag and re-use as needed. I’m going to make this a pair activity so I will only need half the number I would’ve needed.

Qur’anic Arabic Verbs flashcards

Bismillah,

I’ve created these flashcards of verbs in the Qur’an for use with my classes. I will cut out the meaning and stick to the back of the verbs and then laminate the verb sheets. That way the students will be able to play a game with their partner to help them memorize them.

I have chosen interesting looking pictures so that it will be easier for the visual learners to remember iA.
