Verbs in the Qur’an Crossword puzzle

Bismillah,

A fun activity to help my Year 9 girls learn 20 Verbs mentioned in the Qur’an. I’ve only picked 20 to make it easy for the girls as most of them get a lot of homework from school. I think a crossword puzzle will help them see which ones they can remember and which ones they need to sit down and learn.

Fathatyan and Kasratayn activity for kids

Bismillah,

Here’s an activity to help children to recognize words containing fat7atayn and kasratayn. Also, to build on this task, you can ask children to recite the words to help with reading and pronunciation practice.

Arabic grammar worksheet

Bismillah,

So far the grammar I have taught or reviewed depending on the class and what they have been taught before is as follow:

  • The definite article
  • Detached pronouns
  • Attached pronouns
  • Demonstratives

I created the following Arabic grammar worksheet as an exercise to help review all these concepts. The lyrics are from an Islamic Arabic nasheed for children and they repeat over and over again. I want them to see that Qur’anic Arabic and the grammar I am teaching can be used to read short Arabic stories or understand songs which is more relevant at their age/stage.

So here is the nasheed:

And here is the activity that accompanies it:

Once the students have completed the exercise, it will be a fun activity to see if they can translate the sentences using previous knowledge and some help from me. Exposing them to Arabic texts at such an early stage is beneficial for them in my opinion.

At the end of this exercise, I’ll get the class to listen to the nasheed and repeat the words.

Juz `Amma `Ilm to `Amal Series

Bismillah,

I was inspired by 1st Ethical’s commitment to making Islam practical and practised by young Muslims. So in that vain, I added a section in the Arabic studies workbooks where we as a class brainstorm ways in which to use the Surah in our lives to become better believers.

The task is for them to do one activity per surah and present it to the class. It can be a craft activity, reflection, poster, a poem and the list goes on….

Here are the activity sheets I made, selected some students to complete them and present to the class:

Surah at-Takweer

Surah al-Ghashiyah
